Terms and Conditions

Orders require a deposit of between 25% and 100% for me to proceed. Furniture orders are usually completed within six months, although special commissions can take considerably longer. Kitchenware orders are often ready within one month.

Cheques should be made payable to “John Tuffrey”. Prices do not include delivery and VAT is not chargeable. Please note that deposits and advance payments are non-refundable.

All my work carries a TWO YEAR GUARANTEE against manufacturing defects or faulty materials from the date of delivery. Careless treatment leading to damage is not covered by this guarantee. Coasters should be used if something wet or hot is placed on a tabletop. This furniture is unsuitable for sun-baked conservatories, steamy bathrooms or for use outdoors! Kitchenware should not be cleaned in a dishwasher.

This is a handmade product and no guarantees are given for it being exactly the dimensions given. Please state when ordering if any of the dimensions are critical. Corner cupboards tend to be made at an angle somewhat greater than 90° to ensure that the outside face fits snugly against the walls of the room, no matter how irregular they are.

Wood is a highly variable natural material and some finishes, such as linseed oil, tend to exaggerate and bring out this variability, while others (shellac) tend to harmonise these differences. Either way, the pictures on the website or examples you have seen may not accurately reflect the exact colour and grain pattern of the goods you receive.

All upholstery is carried out with fire retardant materials in accordance with the relevant British Standard. The price of upholstered furniture does not include cover fabric. Trimmings, such as gimp, braid, brass nails, etc, are generally included in the price, but this can be reduced if you supply your own. Covers chosen that are not fire retardant will be provided with a fire retardant interliner at no extra cost.

Your purchase can be returned within 14 days for exchange or a full refund if it is found to be faulty or does not reasonably fit the description given.

I own design rights of all my work and am free to make copies of special commissions at any point in the future without your consultation. Prices and designs are subject to change without notice.
